Masnandas behun ti Quran parun
In Kashmiri tradition, the bride offers 2 rakats of Nimaz after aab shairun and reads a page or two of the Quran or a Sura. This symbolises a ritualistic transition of the bride from a young girl to soon to be married woman. Brides typically wear a Pheran with the Quraab (sleeves) left unpinned. Pinned Quraab indicated a married status in old days. It is said that the bride is the purest being at this time and quite close to God. Many people ask her to make dua for them for that reason.
