Henna Ceremony
Women gather for wanwun as the bride enters for the Henna ceremony. The bride adorns her hands and feet with the color of Henna. Other women also adorn their hands with Henna. Nowadays young girls from the groom’s family visit the bride carrying henna filled bowls decorated with candles. On the groom’s side, Maenzeraat is not typically celebrated with as much splendor and fanfare. As a gesture of participation by the groom, his little finger is dipped in Henna or a dab is applied on to his palm.
