Previous books (Manzerath, Kasher Khander Beath and Kashur Wanwun) were primarily focused on wedding songs, this book is a repository of all songs- wedding and traditional Kashmiri songs.
This book includes over 200 songs and with help of our vast Kashmiri community. I expect it to grow substantially within the next few years and beyond using online collaboration tools available to all of us.
Most of the songs have audio/video links at the end, so you can listen to the song if you are not familiar with the lyrics or the tune. My other goal for including video links from YouTube is to also help our Kashmiri artists. Kashmiri artists who have their registered YouTube channel and have monetized it, will be able to earn some money every time you click on their video link. This is just a small way we can all help our artists get compensated for all the hard work they have put into creating a music album or video.
Poet’s name has been assigned to the song wherever available. I used available resources to verify the authenticity, however, if you strongly believe someone else to be the true source of the poetry, please share the source and proper credit will be given to the rightful source.

Mobile and browser friendly. To help our environment and save trees, I would ask that you not print the book or any pages, if possible. Store the book on your smartphone or desktop. This book is a dynamic repository of songs and since the new songs and updates will be made on a regular basis, it makes better sense to access the most updated songs when you need them.
Interactive experience. You will be able to add to this book. For example, add new songs, suggest corrections, add poet names or add audio links on the live document by using the comment box. Cataloging all Kashmiri songs is a monumental task, and I cannot do it alone. I am hoping by creating this interactive online book resource, we can all collaborate and keep adding more songs and other attributes to this book. This way we can rest assured that our future generations have access to all songs with accurate lyrics and poet names.
